Maria Ekroth becomes the new CEO of Skills Finland
Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration Maria Ekroth started work as CEO of Skills Finland on 26 March 2021. Skills Finland’s long-time CEO Eija Alhojärvi will retire during this spring.
Maria has extensive work experience in organisational management and event production. She has previously served for long periods as CEO of Lastenklinikoiden Kummit ry and the Finnish Rheumatism Association. She has also worked as an entrepreneur in the event sector, taught at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and served on the board of many different organisations.
Maria is excited about her new job.
– It was easy to get excited about the important work of Skills Finland. I have a passion for promoting socially significant issues and organising events, and the activities of Skills Finland bring these two together in an excellent way. I am already fully convinced that the work will be inspiring and fascinating! Maria enthuses.
