Taitaja2025 in Turku 5-8 May 2025
The major event for vocational education welcomes everyone to Turku. The event will feature the Finnish National Skills Competition, interesting seminars, engaging side activities, the Taitaja9 final, and much more.
Taitaja2025 will be held from 5 to 8 May at the Turku Fair Center and the Turku Vocational Institute campus. In addition to the Finnish National Skills Competition, there will be a variety of interesting side programmes. During the week, the Skills Finland Operator of the Year 2025 will also be awarded.

Finnish National Skills Competition
Around 400 Finnish Competitors in nearly 50 skills will compete for national medals from Tuesday to Thursday. The skills effectively showcase various fields and professions within vocational education, from forestry machinery to tourism. There are also five TaitajaPLUS skills that for students with special needs.
Taitaja9
Taitaja9 is a cheerful and active skills competition for 7-9 graders (14-16 year old pupils in secondary schools). The two-day Taitaja9 competition will be held at the Gatorade Center on Tuesday 6 May from 11:30 to 15:30 and on Wednesday 7 May from 09:00 to 15:00.
Seminars
The seminars will delve into the future challenges and current themes of vocational education through interesting presentations.

Skills Finland booth
Come and meet us at our booth! You can find us at the Partnership Square (Kumppanuustori). At our stand, you can meet representatives from Skills Finland and Taitaja2026, as well as former competitors, including Best of Taitaja 2024 Max Miettunen and WorldSkills Champions Trust representative Aapo Paunonen. For secondary school visitors, there will be a fun task to identify different skills.
Team Finland and International Guest Competitors
In Taitaja, the members of the Finnish national team are training for the EuroSkills Herning 2025 competition with over 20 International Guest Competitors. Some Team Finland members will also act as judges, while others will compete in the national skills competition.
