Abilympics 2027 to be held in Finland – Follow on social media and explore the website
For the first time ever, the World Championships for vocational professionals with special needs will be held in Finland. The competition will take place as part of the major Skills Games event at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre (Messukeskus) from 10 to 13 May 2027.
The next World Championships for vocational professionals with special needs will be hosted by Finland. The event is held every four years, with the previous competition taking place in Metz, France, in 2023.
Abilympics is a competition open to participants from all vocational institutions—not only those offering intensive special support. There is no age limit, but participants must have a decision of a special need.
In 2027, Abilympics will be organized at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre (Messukeskus) as part of the unique Skills Games event, which brings together both Abilympics and the national Taitaja competition from 10 to 13 May 2027. The event is primarily organized by Skills Finland, in collaboration with a network of around 20 educational institutions. The largest of these, Omnia, is responsible for organizing the Taitaja competition.
