Skills Finland ry

Skills Finland is a non-profit organization promoting excellence in skills. The objective is achieved through skills competitions and by training and coaching young professionals, competition specialists and trainers. Skills Finland works in close partnership with all the stakeholders sharing the same objectives and values.

The Skills competition family consists of both national and international competitions. All competitions share the aim of promoting excellence in the field of skills and competence development, improving the quality and attractiveness of vocational education and training (VET) and raising the awareness of the importance of professional excellence. The competitions are also a way of enhancing cooperation between vocational institutions and businesses and encouraging young people to improve their professional and entrepreneurial skills.

The national competitions are Taitaja, TaitajaPLUS and Taitaja9. Taitaja is the annual competition for young VET students and aprentices. TaitajaPLUS is organized as a part of Taitaja and is aimed for students with special needs. Taitaja9 is a team competition for students in the ninth grade. Skills Finland is responsible for selecting, training and managing TeamFinland for international WorldSkills, EuroSkills and Abilympics competitions.
