The Finnish National Vocational Championship Taitaja2021 sees 1520 vocational students sign up for semi-finals. The semi-finals act as a qualifying round for the finals, which are to take place in May 2021.
The semi-finals will be held remotely due to the current corona pandemic. Competitors will be performing their semi-final tasks at their own vocational schools. This way the safety of competitors and other participants can be secured and there is no need to travel further than their vocational school. Every vocational school will have personnel undergo training so that they can perform the evaluations for the semi-finals. The training will start in November and continue until May 2021.
– The number of signups has increased to its highest level since 2017. It’s great that so many are excited to be a part of Taitaja, even during the pandemic. Our next step is to continue working in skill specific groups to develop the practical arrangements for the semi-finals in February, says Skills Finlands Competition Manager Petri Hörkkö.
Semi-finals for the National Vocational Championship Taitaja2021 will take place at vocational schools 1.–5.2.2021. The Taitaja2021 finals will take place in Oulu 18.–20.5.2021.
