Nomination of the Skills Actor of the Year

Our Skills network is full of the most dedicated professionals. But is there someone who, in your opinion, stands out exceptionally?

Skills Finlandin hallituksen asettama palkitsemistoimikunta valitsee vuosittain verkostomme lukuisten osaajien joukosta Vuoden Skills-toimijan. Palkinto jaetaan vuorovuosin kotimaisesta ja kansainvälisestä kilpailutoiminnasta.

Previous Award Winners:

  • 2022 Business College Helsinki for its active involvement in the national skills comeptition Taitaja.
  • 2023 The Ameo network for vocational special education institutions, recognised for its active participation in the international Abilympics activities.
  • 2024 Brahe Vocational Education Centre for its engagement in Titaja activities and the BraheSkills school competition.
  • 2025 Markku Vengasaho for developing coaching in the confectionery field.

In 2026 we emphasise national competition activities

You now have the opportunity to propose a person, team or organisation for the Skills Actor of the Year who, in your opinion, has excellently promoted national competition activities.

This year we want to reward activities that meet, for example, some of the following criteria, bearing in mind that competition activities are a tool for enhancing the quality and attractiveness of education.

The activities of the party being awarded may, for example, promote cooperation related to competition activities with companies or between educational institutions, create new opportunities for participating in competition activities, for instance through organising semifinals, or develop competition activities so that they benefit others as well and are visible externally.

Selection Process and Jury

The recipient of the award will be decided by the members of the Skills Finland Rewards Committee, Mikko Kinnunen (Federation of Finnish Enterprises), Joonatan Laine (Osku – The Finnish Students’ Alliance) and Marja Vartiainen (Varia, Vantaa Vocational College). The presenting official is Sari Mäenpää, Taitaja Manager, and the secretary of the committee is Communications Manager Katja Katajamäki.

The Skills Actor of the Year will be awarded at the Skills Meeting at the Taitaja event.
