Education providers successful in Taitaja were awarded
Skills Finland presented awards to the education providers that were successful in the Taitaja2025 competition during the Skills Talk Show. At the same event, the Tsemppari award was presented, and the competitor pair with the highest points in the competition was recognised.
Omnia, Turun ammatti-instituutti and Savon ammattiopisto were awarded as the most successful providers of education in Taitaja. Spesia received the Tsemppari award. The winners were presented with trophies designed and crafted by Marko Varjos, an experienced expert in the Furniture Making skill category from Koulutuskeskus Salpaus. The trophies are made from Finnish local wood, maple from Seminaari Park in Heinola.
Education providers awarded on the basis of their success in Taitaja are determined directly through the Competition Information System (CIS), which takes into account the gold, silver and bronze medals achieved by the institution, as well as performances above average.
The education providers were ranked in the Taitaja2025 competition as follows:

- Omnia
- Ammattiopisto Spesia
- Tampereen seudun ammattiopisto Tredu
- Riveria
- Gradia
- Keuda
- Etelä-Savon ammattiopisto and Livia (shared place)
The highest points in the Taitaja2025 competition were achieved by Emma Lehtonen & Lilja Alander (Ammattiopisto Spesia), who competed in TaitajaPLUS, Restaurant and Catering Services pair skill.
Tsemppari award to Saimaan Ammattiopisto Spesia
Because the award places for education providers are usually reached mainly by large education providers, whose teams are also bigger, Skills Finland also awards the Tsemppari prize to a small education provider that has distinguished itself in the Taitaja activities in another way. The recipient of this prize is selected by the award working group appointed by the board of Skills Finland.
The grounds for the selection were: “Spesia, in its special role, has with a positive attitude developed participation in skills competitions and has highlighted the development of competence related to it for students. Their participation in the semi-finals and progress to the final competition has increased since 2022, and the number of medals has grown. Their committed approach to developing competition activities has had a clear impact on staff and students.”
The award was received by Principal Annemari Suonsivu, Skill Manager Eero Saanakorpi, and the P1 Restaurant and Catering Services gold medallists Lilja Alander and Emma Lehtonen.
